General Information |

It is the responsibility of the volunteer to honor their contract with the host school and to work for one year under the guidance of the classroom teacher and the principal. At the end of your year you will return to your homeland and resume your employment with the local mission. You will assist the classroom teacher you have been assigned to work with, and carry out your duties to the best of your ability. You will prepare adequately in advance for classes and always maintain a clean neat appearance. You are required to uphold the principles of the Seventh Day Adventist Church and to participate fully in the church and community life.
Responsibility Of The Host School It is the responsibility of the host school to provide a round trip airfare from the volunteers point of origin to the host school location. The host school must provide accommodation and meals with a host family free of charge to the volunteer. The host school must provide suitable clothing for both summer and winter conditions in the US to the volunteer. The host school must provide a stipend of no less than US$100 a month to the volunteer. Insurance is the responsibility of the host school. This is arranged through the South Pacific Division Volunteer Department at a cost of approx A$400.00 The host school must ensure the volunteer has internet access either at home or school to enable them to make regular contact with their family and friends at home. The host school must guarantee continued training in teaching methods and classroom management to the volunteer. The host school will also support the volunteer in learning computer skills and wider school management.
